He promises to make her immortal after learning she will die when she turns 200 years old. The Vixen, who reveals her name to be Ruxue, reunites with her old friend, Wukong. After the Dragon King informs Heaven of Wukong's destruction, Erlang sends Nezha to arrest him. She is revealed to be the nine-tailed fox and the Demon King as the force that whisked her away, claiming to have saved her life. The Bull Demon King asks a young Vixen if she'd like to meet her old friend again. After defeating the Dragon King, Wukong becomes intrigued by a staff planted in the sea. Wukong travels to the palace of the Dragon King to find weapons for the Mount Huaguo monkeys. The plan is kept secret from Princess Iron Fan, who is pregnant with the Demon King's child. Erlang agrees to help the Demon King in exchange for getting to kill his uncle and take Heaven's throne. The Bull Demon King plans to invade heaven again by using Wukong and preying on Erlang's anger towards the Jade Emperor. Years later, the monkey is taken in and trained by Subhuti, naming him Sun Wukong. A nine-tailed fox is scarred after touching the crystal and whisked away by a mysterious force. One of the crystals falls to Mount Huaguo, taking the form of a monkey over time. The Jade Emperor appoints his nephew Erlang Shen to guard the Southern Gate, despite Erlang's resentment of the task. The goddess NГјwa sacrifices her body to rebuild Heaven with crystals. The Emperor's sister and Bull Demon King's lover, Princess Iron Fan, convinces the Emperor to spare him and banishes him, Princess Iron Fan, and the rest of the demons to Flaming Mountain. save the popcorn for the last 30 minutes of the movie.During an attack on Heaven, the Bull Demon King battles and loses against the Jade Emperor, the ruler of Heaven.

so, if the movie isn't that appealing.just make sure you watch the last third or quarter and you'll feel a lot less screwed.the ending of the movie was its saving grace and just might save the movie from disaster. the story and acting got tighter and best of all, the cgi looked as good as any that Hollywood can put out, and it was exciting. the fighting got good( you actually see real fight moves from Donnie). everything picked up close to the end.it almost seemed like a different team stepped in to finish the movie, in every aspect. if you watch this movie make sure you finish it, because the last quarter of the movie is freakin awesome and makes up for sitting thru the first 2/3's to 3/4's of the movie. basically just about nothing works in this movie.and now for its saving grace. i went into this movie not expecting much and wind up not getting much, there were no development of characters, some of the costumes were laughably bad and the other 2 leads weren't that interesting either.

it was going to be hard to cgi the right way cause the book was so detailed and deep. for most of the movie the cgi was almost laughable, i've literally seen better in video games, and they had help from the cgi team that did Avatar( i think the team took the money and ranned ). he is known for his action movies and there isn't much of that as the movie is almost all cgi and wire-fu. he wants every big role in a big movie even if it isn't right for him and in this movie he makes a fool out of himself till 3/4's of the way thru. the mans facial features are as expressive as wood and recently you can tell how egotistical he has become. with a budget of almost 90 million US dollars(biggest Chinese movie budget to date), and this is what they came up with? there were many major problems with this movie, first off having Donnie Yen as the monkey king was a big big no no.
